The U.S. government should give a small amount of foreign aid to reduce the world’s population growth because the United States itself is not experiencing major population growth, rather a decrease in the growth, but America is still affected by the rapid population growth occurring in developing countries. The United States has the advantages that other countries can take from in order to decrease their population growth as well. In 1965 America tried to control population growth by supplying reproductive health information and family planning services to women around the world. If this continues today, the world population growth could slowly decrease allowing the world to have more resources for everyone and avoid more population growth scares. The aid should be conditional by focusing on the family planning services that focuses on educating women because their increased understanding can lead to a dramatic decrease in population growth. The United States government has a lot to worry about economically as a country as well as other worldwide affairs so if they can just have one focus, rather than many different agendas, on how to end population growth they can potentially have an impact. Otherwise, doing too much to try and end population growth as well as the other issues they have on their hands can cause their aid to be ineffective. It needs to be small and planned out well to work.
