Somalia Food Giveaway in Al Qaeda's Name Raises Questions and Criticism
This article reveals a side of Al-Qaeda that we have never seen. It is hard to tell what message is actually conveyed in this article. The Al-Qaeda have committed horrible acts before, and who is to say they wont at another point, but the main concern has to be the people of Somalia. This article states that the representative from Al-Qaeda brought along rice, milk and other supplies to help the starving population. I think that if this representative is just in Somalia to drop off supplies, he should be allowed with somewhat open arms. If there is intentions behind this maneuver that tie the Somalian people into a trick that will harm them even more, there should be consequences. Whether this was done with good intentions or not, it is still confusing to all people, I would imagine. This organization has made an alliance with another organization that is doing only harm to these people in the Shabab, to it become confusing who to trust. My thoughts are just to do anything to help the people there. After the Al-Qaeda representative walked through the imprisonment refugee camp that is doing no good for the people, he might be able to convince the Shabab that they can make a positive change. That is positive thinking, this article could truly go both ways concerning the people of Somalia.
