SOMALIA FOOD GIVEAWAY

It is good to see all the contributions that can be made for the starving people of Somalia, but I don’t think the world should be allowing corrupt organizations such as Al Queda to have any presence in Somalia. Al Queda still is a terrorist group, and there presence in Somalia is just too dangerous. Even if they are donating food, Al Queda has way too much to take advantage of in Somalia while the people are in critical health during the famine. As the article said, Al Queda could be using food as a resource to gain the somalian’s praise which would give Al Queda more power. They have been showing good relations with Shabab, whom are currently taking over territory in Somalia and are cutting off supplies. The world community cannot sit around and watch Al Queda join Shabab’s effort to take advantage of Somalia while it’s in such critical condition. The world could take action to stop any NGO in Somalia by resorting to the UN for the job to operate the support effort in Somalia. This way Al Queda as an individual would not take offense to being removed from Somalia, and Somalia would be less susceptible to corrupt NGO’s who are just looking for power.
