Somalia

At the beginning of the article, “Somalia Food Giveaway in Al Qaeda’s Name Raises Questions and Criticism”, I could immediately tell that something about the aid from Al Qaeda did not seem to be aid that was coming out of the goodness of their hearts. The start of the article made one think that the aid being delivered might actually be an act of kindness but upon further reading there is nothing that makes Al Qaeda seem generous; however that is far from the case. Clearly, Al Qaeda is simply using this as an opportunity to gain support and followers in a nation where people might do anything in order to get some kind of assistance in health care or with food. In my opinion, these deliveries of aid are not doing anything to really benefit the Somalians in the long run, especially if Al Qaeda and Al Shabab are allied then it is absolutely just “propaganda” as stated in the article, no one who is on the same “team” as Al Shabab in Somalia has any goodness in their heart for the well-being of other people. If Al Shabab was allowing more aid through to the Somalians it may seem less suspicious; but it cannot be taken honestly if the only aid being allowed through is from Al Qaeda, it simply means that there must be some underlying reason for the aid and it is not simply the wellness of Somalians.
