Iraq success

I somewhat believe Iraq was a success due to the liberation, and capture of Saddam Hussein. In addition to liberation, it allowed us to gather much needed intel of the turmoil that effected the U.S. In addtion to the turmoil I believe it was a success, for it allowed the U.S to put it's foot in the door regarding oil supply. Also without the involvment, it would look as though the US was just going to take the terrorist attacks. Ofcourse major actions against it would be necessary as a preventative measure. However though, just as you can't tell the success of a president until 2 after their presidency, the involvment in Iraq's efficiency can't be gauged for a couple years to see how it all plays out. Also it seemed necessary for the US to determine wether or not they had access to weapons of mass destruction, as it was a topic that heavily affected the futures of all nations. If the US didnt step in when it did, I doubt no other nation would of let there nation run a muck.
