Is this even a real question?
As many of you heard from my spoken word poem, I saw no need to be involved in the Iraq War. First of all, there was never any clear reason why we were there in the first place. After a while when it seemed that our original “reason” didn’t seem to validate our being in Iraq any more, it seemed like the new reason was to take out Iraq’s leader and put in place a more just government. After almost a decade of fighting and thousands of American men and women dying for this “cause,” we seemed to have gotten nowhere. It is being said that we are leaving this country when they are stable. That is far from true. Now that we are just pulling out after putting this country in turmoil, I wouldn’t be surprised if another absolute ruler steps into power, and it goes back to how it was before. We have done nothing except for fully destroying another country. Thank you, George Bush, you’ve done good, kid.
