Iraq

Overall, I think the war in Iraq for the most part was a failure. The original reason for the war changed once we had invaded Iraq and found that they did not have nuclear weapons. With that said this should have been the time that we left Iraq, but instead Bush made up another reason for the US to stay in Iraq which eventually turned into a nine year war that no one knew the reason for. I think in order to start war there should be a very clear reason as to why a country is going to war with another and evidence for their reasoning. Although it is a plus that Saddam Hussein is out of power, we no longer know who the next ruler will be. This is almost more dangerous because if it is a worse ruler than Hussein the US could be a target again. Not only that, but for the amount of deaths that this war cause for no particular reason it’s hard to say that this war was completely successful. The only success in this war was taking Saddam Hussein out of power other than that there was no point.
