Was the Iraq War Successful?

Initially, I was not a supporter of the war in Iraq and I found it quite unintelligent and silly that we were deploying and positioning troops throughout the lands. However, as I look back on the experiences, objectives, and completions that the United States military has accomplished I believe that we did achieve a form of success in Iraq. Between the positives and negatives of the war in Iraq – fighting, dying, building, training, and more – it has led to a realization of success in the idea that the United States military has left Iraq in a better state than when it was occupied. We have left Iraq behind with a stable and representative government, which was formed and elected by its people. Along with the said successes we have succeeded at determining more about ourselves as a nation. Such as how we will act when we are put into a situation such as that as well as how our military can improve and handle similar instances.
