Was the Iraq war benefitial

Nine years ago, the United States went into Iraq with the hopes of tranforming their country in many aspects. There are many reasons why we went into this country but one of our goals was to find nuclear weapons. In the beginnning years, under George Bush, we continued to spend money and search for weapons, but in the end we came up completely dry. In essence this war was not successful at all, because it is very hard to tell in Middle East countries whether they will end up successful. Now in Iraq, there is a small fractions of democracy that are functioning. This country will try to elect representatives to represent the people and their wishes. With that being said I do not think that the War in Iraq was a success. Althought there is no way to tell now, and there may be success in the later years, but as of now this war simply seems like a waste of money. Also it is embarressing that one of our main reasons for going into Iraq was to find weapons and we came up completely dry. I think that time will tell whether this was a success or not.
