Reflection on whether the world is a victim of American Cultural Imperialism

I am glad that Katie and I won the debate today on whether The World is a Victim of American Cultural Imperialism; however, there were definitely things we could have fixed as well. I, personally, am not the greatest debater. I may have good reasoning for why something stated is not true or valid, but I have difficulty forming cohesive sentences quickly that will state why they are wrong. Today, that happened many times. I do believe we were able to cover the opponent’s case and state why theirs was invalid for this debate, but I think we should have spent a bit more time on our own case as well. Also, it would have been beneficial to have more questions during cross fire, rather than, rebuttals. On the bright side, I think we were able to answer the question well and bring back the debate to what it’s really about, American Cultural Imperialism. Overall, I do believe it was a great learning experience and it was a good way to bring two classes into one, which was very interesting and helpful.
