War in Iraq, a success? Nahhhht

In my opinion, the war in Iraq was anything but a success. Our original mission was to go into Iraq and locate any weapons of mass destruction, nuclear weapons in particular. After a few years, it was clear that there were no nuclear weapons in Iraq and George Bush used nuclear weapons, as a pitch to get Americans to jump on his bandwagon. The question at hand though, is, was our presence in Iraq a successful in promoting Democracy. Yes, it was a success in that matter. But Promoting democracy doesn't necessarily mean that Iraq will convert. If someone promotes a club, not everyone is going to go. We were unsuccessful in converting Iraq, maybe in the future Iraq will convert to democracy, but it will be the decision of the people to do so, not because America promoted it.
