Was the War in Iraq was a success?

My person opinion on the war is that it was a waste of time. During the time of crisis in the United States after 9/11 I believe that our intentions were good in the sense that we were being precautious in order to protect our citizens. Our initial mission was to look for possible nuclear weapons or the manufacturing of these weapons in terrorist groups or organizations. Our country understood the ways of the terrorist groups in the Middle East and knew they were a threat to our nation. This occupation for a small amount of time was necessary to show that as a country we have power and force to fight. This is almost like Roosevelt's Big Stick diplomacy in which we showed off our power and how we can take control in other places. What I disagree with is how long we stayed there. Our occupation was too long and was depleting our money and we lost many casualties to a war that was a successful endeavor. Like Savannah said in class today America tends to jump into situations to fast and too early cause some failures and successes to which the Iraq was not a success.
