Wait... Why Did We Cause Almost a Decade of War?

From day one, The Republican party had very separate goals from the rest of the United States. Propaganda was generated to justify invading another country to ensure the spread of democracy to surve the Untied State's benefit. As we invaded Iraq, the nation was blamed for the 9/11 attacks and accused of having weapons of mass destruction. The "goal" was to create a democratic government to stabilize the nation to prevent any more terrorist attacks. Although the goals of the government were the same as the country, the reasons for invading were vastly different.

On August 1, 1990, Iraq, led by Saddam Hussein, invaded its oil-rich neighbor to the south, Kuwait; Bush Sr. condemned the invasion and began rallying opposition to Iraq in the US and among European, Asian, and Middle Eastern allies. His ability to gain broad international support for the Gulf War and the war's result were seen as both a diplomatic and military triumph, rousing bipartisan approval, though his decision to withdraw without removing Saddam Hussein left mixed feelings, and attention returned to the domestic front and a souring economy.

Gorge W. Bush, and the rest of his Republican staff, took it upon themselves to finish the job that Gorge Bush Sr. didn't finish. The goals of the government at the time used the 9/11 attacks as a scapegoat to invade Iraq and secure a government that would suit our needs for controlling a major oil export. This close to decade long war was a result of personal grudge and greed for natural resources.
