Chomsky-
Chomsky denounces globalization for favoring the rich over the poor. He shows the negative affects of globalization through the example of a farmer. Farmers have a bleak choice between continuing their job that provides little earnings or moving to the city for a job with low wages. While he remains neutral, stating the positive effects for the rich and the negatives for the poor, he seems to lean more towards the negative side of globalization.
Friedman-
In contrast to Chomsky, Friedman focuses on the three eras of globalization. Previous to watching this video, I thought of globalization as a relatively new phenomenon. However Friedmen's theory on globalization dates back many centuries to focus on the construction of the "flat world."Today he believes that globalization is "built around individuals."
I agree with both sides.
