Chomsky:
In the video Chomsky informs us of some of the negative
aspects of globalization. The biggest point he made was that globalization does
not benefit the poor, only the wealthy, because jobs have been moved over seas
to reduce costs for big corporations. The factory jobs in other nations aren’t a
positive thing either because there we struggle with pay, hours, and how the
workers are treated. He believes that globalization is a negative thing.
Friedman:
Friedman believes that globalization is a positive thing for
the world. He says that it is a
new era of globalization and that it is rapidly expanding and advancing. He uses examples from history to probe
how globalization can be really beneficial.
I understand where each video is coming from and they both
make good point. If I had to choose one to agree with it would most likely be Chomsky,
but I definitely agree and disagree with both.
