Chomsky v.s. Friedman

Chomsky:
The video focuses a lot around the idea that globalization is a negative thing. He explains how the rich have most of the power in getting what they want and how the poor are neglected because of globalization, representing the opinion that globalization creates a dichotomy between the upper and lower classes. Chomsky's warrant for the poor being harmed by an increasing global network is that it becomes easier for large wealthy corporations to ship jobs overseas, and harms the domestic economy because the common farmer now has to compete with lower prices globally as opposed to a smaller world.

Friedman:
Friedman explains that there are 3 eras of globalization, each of which expands interconnectedness and benefits the population as a whole. He focuses on the current 3rd generation of globalization and talks about the world getting smaller and thus allowing for more technological advancements and he states that increasing technology and communication allows for individuals to command the economy better.

I tend to agree with the idea that globalization is good, however, I believe that Chomsky makes a persuasive argument that it harms local workers by forcing them to compete in a massive international market and that it increases outsourcing of jobs: a problem which I believe is a big deal.
