Undecided
I do not think I am educated enough about globalization to decide whether it is a good or bad thing for the world. I mean, think about it. We have an entire year course on just that: globalization. Who am I to make a rash decision before I have studied and applied my newfound knowledge on the subject? At this point, I see both positives and negatives. By America’s standards I usually find globalization to be bad and demeaning. I do not like the idea that Starbucks workers in China only made a few dollars for a six hour shift when Americans are making 15 times that amount for the same job in better conditions. But, by the Chinese standard, they are making twice as much for a workday that is half as long as those in the sweatshop down the street. It is a tricky place. If the Chinese citizens think it’s a good thing should we just agree? I mean we’re the ones profiting, right? I’m not sure I can agree with the fact that not all citizens of the world are entitled to the same conditions and rights, whether in the workplace or elsewhere. So far I have agreed most with what was said in the Ted Talks video. Although I am not sure it is possible, regulating and creating a Code of Conduct for multinational companies seems to make the most sense in furthering the global economy and making global labor fair. But, talk to me in April, I might have a different stance on globalization as a whole.

I completely agree and need to learn more before I can make an educated decision. I like the points you have chosen to bring up and they seem well thought out.
