Friedman vs. Chomsky

Chomsky:

Chomsky focuses mainly on the idea of international integration. He believes that it is good and bad. It is good because it allows for trade between countries all around the world. The bad side that he sees is that when countries open up their borders because of this international integration they will take free imports and put the poor class out of work. This will force them to move into cities and find low wages jobs. If they remained selling their crops they would not be able to compete with the imported goods and would not be able to support their families.

Thomas Friedman

Friedman focuses mainly on how everyone is connected because of globalization. His major saying in "The world is Flat" video is that everything that can be done will be done. That means that if someone comes up with an idea it will either be done by him or to him according to Friedman. In the second video he states that there have been three eras of globalization so far. Each time an era ends the world metaphorically gets smaller and we all get closer. Another thing he stated is that because we have gone through the third era so quickly we will have to spend a lot of time trying to right the wrongs of the the new globalized world.

I agree more with Chomsky.
