Globalization and China

After hearing both the pro and con globalization arguments, my opinion of the matter remains relatively unchanged.  It may be because I don’t fully understand the anti-globalization argument but I remain firm on my stance that globalization is beneficial. In thirty years China’s GNP went from $970 million dollars to $970 billion dollars. This is a very substantial increase that may be attributed to the nation’s acceptance of capitalism and globalization. As of today, China is gearing up to overtake the United States economically and far surpasses the amount of exports our nation, well, exports. With China’s increase in infrastructure comes an increase in the amount of jobs as well as hourly wage. The average wage has risen more than tenfold in the last thirty years as the new generation of Chinese citizens have many opportunities that their parents did not. The quality of life of the average Chinese citizen has risen so dramatically that the number of immigrants to the United States has lessened as many choose to remain in their native land. All of these improvements may be attributed to the globalization China undertook in the 1970s.
