I believe the positive aspects of globalization outweigh the
negative aspects. I think that people who look on it as negative focus to
heavily on our own nation and do not look at the prosperity of the foreign
nations. By having large corporations established in foreign countries it has
boosted the standards of living for those poor foreigners. We look at the
negatives of using foreign labor and how they pay their workers so little but
these small wages are greater than seen in previous years. They simply just don’t
meet the standards we are accustomed to. I think some of the people who are complaining
about the injustice to human rights involved with foreign multinational
companies are people who have comfortable living standards and look upon the
foreign labor wages as inhumane, when they should really be looked at as beneficial.
I disagree with the No supported article read in class that
states that the U.S. cannot handle being a super power in a globalized nation. It is true we cannot handle everything but
this should not be a means of going against globalization as a whole. It should
be a reason to try to even the playing field further and distribute the wealth.
I really like how you closed your blog by addressing the side that you disagree with. I agree that just because the US cannot handle global issues all on it's own does not mean globalization is completely negative.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good argument and it is very well put how you stated the no side and how you disagree with it.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Sarah. When I read the article, the only argument the con side was promoting was that the us is the only superpower and that has ruined globalization. She has to remember that globalization existed before the us and had the same problems.
