Globalization

Prior to reading this article, I wasn't really sure whether or not globalization should be considered a  positive or negative thing. I definitely was not aware of all the possible negative consequences it can come with. Even though the list of negatives is very upsetting, I believe that the world couldn't function without globalization.
The article I read was the one that talked about why globalization is negative, and it listed many reasons to why it was a negative thing. This list is very concerning, but nothing in this world exists without some problems. The United States is a very strong and powerful nation; however, it would not be this way unless it had ties to many other parts of the world. Trade is a huge part of globalization, and it strengthens both of the countries that are involved. As they said in the positive article, the Starbucks in China is another was to improve profit for both the US and China.  Many third world countries and countries that struggle do add a lot of problems to the world and its stability, but no nation can survive without the help of others. There may be many parts of the world that don't agree with globalization, but the articles have convinced me that the positives outweigh the negative parts.

  1. I agree with you that without globalization the world could not function. I feel like no matter how many negative aspects there can be to globalization , globalization will always benefit more than it hurts.

  2. Although I interpreted the Starbucks example as a flaw in globalization, I do agree that it is okay for globalization to have its flaws because, like you said, nothing is perfect. In the long term, however, I think that we need to solve the most important issues (regarding human rights) before fully believing that globalization is good.
