Globalization

After reading the article on globalization I had a clearer understanding on the positives and negatives. Before reading the article, I was in favor of globalization, and after reading it I still am. Even though there seemed to be a lot more negative points than positive, I think that the positives really outweighed the negatives.

Although there are definitely some major down sides to globalization, one of the main positive reasons in the article that I think outweighed the negatives is globalization leading to better economies in other countries, such as China and India. Better economies helped 200 million people find jobs; creating a middle class. Not only are there more jobs due to globalization but wages are higher too. People make more money and are able to have a more comfortable living. Due to better economies, there are more opportunities in other countries. I think its important that people don’t feel like they have to move to the United States to have a better shot at being successful. People can stay in their own countries and have just as good opportunities. Without globalization, people might still feel the need to have to leave their countries for a better life economically.
