Position on Globalization

The first time we were asked to share our feeling on globalization I could not decide wether it was a positive or negative thing.  After reading the packet I still feel the same way.
I believe it is too hard to decide if globalization is either positive or negative on the world. In my opinion it is both, and it depends on who you are asking. Both sides of the argument have benefits as well as disadvantages. Such as a raise in yearly income, and more job opportunities with a downside of losing a nations traditions and culture. I don't think that one weighs more heavily than another. I think that being a middle class citizen in a first world country really effects my opinion, because my traditions are not being threatened by another nations as well as the fact that I think I live such a great life so why wouldn't everyone else want to live the way I do. If I was a citizen of a 3rd world country I think that I would probably take a more negative side. I believe that when answering this question you need to keep in mind the people who are involved and how you would feel if you were in each persons situation.

  1. Evy I totally see your two points of view and I can see how you are stuck between Globalization being a positive or a negative. I was in the same boat as you but now I believe it is a negative. Great Points about the middle class!

  2. Your two points of view are easy for me to relate to. I was hesitant on agreeing that globalization is a positive thing and you make a good point about thinking about how the people involved would feel.
