Food and Environment
After researching about the lack of food and environment securities in the Human Rights, I haven't found any real answers. My opinion, though, is that at the time that the Declaration was written, they didn't really know anything would happen to the environment. They didn't know things like global warming would happen and there was no way of them knowing. Another thing is that you can't base a law or guideline about the environment because you never really know what's going to happen. Nowadays weather people can predict a hurricane and things like that, but back then how would they make a human right if they couldn't be sure of it:? As for food, there was only one right that could be put under food security, and our class put it under health. I feel as though when they wrote the Declaration of Human Rights they didn't think about it that much, because they focused on three main securities (political, community, and personal). I think they didn't go into detail about that because you can't predict what will happen, like if there is a drought or famine, but you can tie food into community and personal.
