Food and Environmental Security
Food and Environmental security aren't part of the UN declaration because of two reasons: they shouldn't need to be declared and they are hard to control. People need to eat in order to live; it is the one of two things that people need to have. It is assumed that every person on earth, no matter their social status, will have food to eat. Eating is not something that needs to be clarified. It it also very hard to control food seeing as it depends on the state the country (land) is in. Us people cannot control the weather and whether or not the ground is fertile to plant. It's not people who are interfering with the food supply (for the most part). But the reason it's a human security is because it is needed to live and everyone should have it, and if people don't there is need for concern. The similar is true for Environmental Security in the fact that we as people cannot control what the environment does, we can only try to fix things that go wrong. In the case of toxic spills and pollution, we can only try to protect the environment but not necessarily stop it from happening. These are the two securities that we have virtually no control over as people, but we can only try to fix.
