Most Important Human Security
Personally, I believe that the most important human security is personal security. From fully developed nations, to third world countries, people should feel somewhat protected against surrounding violence. Men, women, and children of different ethnicities and who have contrasting life styles all deserve a positive recognition for their individual security. Waking up every morning with a chance of being abducted, enslaved, raped, or killed puts an enormous toll on the human mind. About 10,000 children die in Africa everyday due to gang related crime. Furthermore, the other six human securities fall short of personal security due to the fact it is the foundational security. As consequence of lacking personal security, mass amounts innocent people are raped and murdered each day. Other securities such as economic, cultural, and political don't equate because if a community completely lacks human security, than no other type of security would exist.
