After reading the two articles I found that ‘Beyond Cairo, Israel Sensing A Wider Siege’ was more interesting. The article made me realize how lucky I am to live in such a stable country. Israel and Egypt have a lot of chaos surrounding them. The chaos doesn’t look like its coming to any resolution either. It’s weird to think that those countries haven’t devised some form of government that works for them yet. I always take America’s government and stability for granted. There are families having to move away from what they’ve always called their home because of all the violence and disruption. I can’t even imagine. In the last paragraph of the article Binyamin Ben-Eliezer stated that “The world is tired of this conflict and angry at us because we are viewed at conquerors, ruling over another people,” He thinks that they should recognize a Palestinian state so they can negotiate borders and security. Instead of doing that it seems a though their leader is just sitting around waiting for someone to fix the problem for him.

  1. I like your points in this article, I just don't agree with the point that Ben-Eliezer makes. I believe that if the US gives Palestine any bit of help it will explode. They are working with our greatest enemy at the time and vice versa. It would be highly dangerous and not worth the expenses of waging something against Palestine, because either way it would be looked upon as us fighting with Iran.

  4. I really like the quote you used “The world is tired of this conflict and angry at us because we are viewed at conquerors, ruling over another people,” because I agree with the fact that the world is tired of war.

  5. I agree with your statement about the leader waiting around for other people to just fix his countries problems. Although the chaos around Egypt and Israel doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon, at least they are attempting to maintain a peace treaty amongst themselves.

  6. Yeah I definitely don't think the conflict between the two will end soon, especially since Egyptian protesters shredded their peace flag with Israel, according to Haaretz, "It seems that the flag will not return to the flagstaff anything soon."
