What should the U.S. do?

In my opinion the United States should wait a little bit to make a final decision. We should try to just buckle down, and make a final agreement with Israel and Palestine. No more dilly dallying it has taken too long. Once there is a meeting between nations the U.S. should just give Palestine the opportunity to become an independent state. I know we are allies with Israel but at this point, our relationship with Israel is causing us to be hated by most Arab nations. I do realize that Israel would be very mad but we need to have a serious talk and stop waisting time. In my opinion Obama wants Palestine to become an independent state, but realizes he can't advocate for it. I believe that what is happening is not fair for Palestine, regardless of whether or not we are Israel's allies. Palestine is as much an independent state as any other, let them declare it.
