Despotism Leads to Democracy

This statement is correct for the following reason, in which a democracy needs a final power or leadership role to follow through with the objectives that the democracy tries to assure. Yet even though a democracies purpose is to give the power to the people, as billy described, that leading power or powers can adjust to there needs and wants. Corruption in a democracy could easily come about from selfishness in the leading governmental roles. If despotism is basically a tyranny, then what are the major differences in having, say, a president or small group of people lead a countries final decision making. There is only so far the people can take there ideas until the higher power, which any functioning society will have, shoes them away with disapproving actions. I believe such a saying is actually correct in the sense that any form of government that resides to having a leading power, no matter if the people have a say in the actions, can lead to despotism because of simple human nature, instincts, and corruption.
