Palestine and Israel Conflict

Israel is currently in a downward spiral because of the Palestinians seeking statehood, its Cairo embassy being pillaged, and its ambassador to Turkey expelled. Israel, one of the United States’ strong allies, is losing support from their allies as a result of Israel not apologizing for some of the cruel acts they have been involved in, like the killing of three Egyptian soldiers. Losing these allies is going to cause a big split when it is time to vote about the Palestinians joining the UN and becoming a state. This is extremely scary to think about because the Middle East is beginning to change dramatically, which is horrifying for the United States and other nations because the Middle East is not stable, and changes could only cause more problems. With Israel becoming a “target of public outrage,” their strong ally, the U.S, could be targeted as well. These articles show that Israel’s inflexibility is causing more problems than just letting Palestine become a state. I am having difficulty believing whether or not Israel is doing the right thing. As much as I want to believe the U.S's ally is correct in its affairs, these articles seem to prove that if Israel just agreed less problems would occur. But is it possible that if Palestine becomes a state there might be wars against Israel and potentially the U.S? This is what the United States is trying to avoid, and will hopefully be successful in doing.

  1. Wouldn't it become more of a problem with the U.S. if palestine became a state so aren't they doing the right thing protecting themselves and us?
