What should the U.S. do to in regards to the Palestinian request for U.N. membership?

The United States is in an extremely pressured situation and a resolve to this problem is going to have to happen very soon. I don't think the U.S. should veto the Palestinian statehood for two reasons: The amount of supporters for Palestine creates serious competition for Israel, therefore the Palestinian supporters will become even more hostile to the U.S. which could result in a large-scale rebellian against the U.S. Also Palestine, who's leader Mahmoud Abbas is determined to win this request for his country, will want to get revenge on the country responsible for it's loss if they don't gain statehood, which will be the U.S. if that were the case. The U.S. needs to be very careful when dealing with this issue and must not make any drastic moves. I think the United States should vote against Palestine as a member in the U.N. simply because of it's expressed promise of support for Israel. Since the U.S. has previously tried to coerce Israeli and Palestinian leaders to come to a negotiation, the problem can no longer linger in their hands. The U.S. needs to take control with the help of other countries to create an ultimatum with the permanent members of the Security Council so that the U.S.'s relations with the powerful countries isn't weakened. If majority of stable participating countries came to an agreement on the distribution process of land, Israel and Palestine would be completely out voted and have no choice but to accept the negotiation. As soon as this dispute is settled, the countries should arrange time for Palestine to become more stable in it's own land to be able to be granted statehood. The U.S. needs to reason with other countries in order to warn them against the potential harms of Palestine becoming a part of the U.N. for the world's concern. Simply trying to veto Palestinian statehood would be the most inaffective way to solve the deep rooted world issue right now, and would cause more harm in the end. The U.S. needs to think carefully throughout this process to ensure world safety isn't at risk.
