For the United States, the best alternative isn't always the best one for a political leader's image. It has been said multiple times, that if Obama endorses Palestine to receive statehood, as is, that he won't be reelected. The corruption in the US government structure alone is forcing each state official to look out for their best interest rather than that of the world. If, for once, the US would respectfully sit out any global conflict, from the start, and focus on the internal affairs of it's own nation, then perhaps the ever growing self-destructive effects of poor economic regulations, and selfish governments would begin to fade out, while a new generation of thinkers would take place of the traditional values. It's clear that we have our own problems to deal with. We must stand up for the individual natural rights of man, rather than allowing this nationalistic view of our power dictate across the world. Too many times have nations sought a solution purely for their best interest; Too many times have wars been started that savagely end lives in the name of liberty; Too many times have human beings fought each other based on trivial matters of race when, in reality, we are all the same. If we claim to have such enlightened and unmatched abilities and values, then why do we hide behind these masks of lies that cause what it is that we are trying to prevent? To move forward, we must leave the supremacy and imperialistic views of ourselves to wither, and die; we can't fix all the problems in the world through military strength. In a crisis such as this, we must allow the natural development of that area to play itself out without our military control, but continue serving for the UN and insisting on peace talks.

US Involvement in Palestine/Israel Conflict?
This may seem egocentric but in all reality, the United States cannot be involved in another war. We should abstain from any further Middle Eastern military intervention that may arise, and continue efforts of peace talks regardless of how pointless they may be. The US shouldn't be acting on such power to decide the fate of whether Palestine receives statehood or not. Granted, the United States military greatly overpowers that of any nation, but with that fact known, why is it alright for us to be picking sides? This never ending set of demands from both sides of this conflict will lead to a never ceasing war. If the United States were to back out of the Middle East, Israel would surely perish eventually from the extreme population differential. Not to say that that is the correct solution, but it isn't purely our decision to make.
